The television show Doctor Who BBC America has been around for a long time. This T.V. series ran from 1963 to 1989, when the original show was cancelled and then restarted again. The Doctor Who program was originally in black and white in its early years until color televisions came into existence. The program has been out for decades. The theme of this program is very intriguing and creative.  On most television shows, you can predict what is going to happen next, but not with Doctor Who because they make every story plot unique. It is currently the longest run show and it is in the Guinness Book of World Records.

One of the unique features of the series is the villains. The Daleks are the greatest enemy of the Doctor. They are evil villains who are very powerful descendants of the Laleds. The villains are armored with a thick casing, similar to that of a robot. They are aliens from planet Skaro. The Power of the Daleks was the first story for the villains. The Daleks were a big success with its viewers. Of all the villains, the Daleks became the show’s most fearful villain. They were frightful creatures who were hated throughout the whole universe.  These particular villains are a big part of the show’s success!

The Doctor’s main role is being a time traveler, where he can travel in the past and meet historical figures. The role of Doctor Who is usually played by handsome men, except during the early years when they used rugged men to play that role. There were many great doctors on the show that played the role very well.  David Tenennant is an actor that stood out the most.  He took the show to a new level with his dynamic performance playing Doctor Who. David was a big fan of the show in his younger years and his dream was to be an actor on the program. David’s dream and beyond became real, as he was the star of the show. Currently Matt Smith, a 26 year old actor, is the lead Doctor on the show. He has been in other television shows and theater plays. You can watch doctor who online at watchdoctorwhoonline.org
